There was another Brazilian Walking iris today. It was a complete surprise to see the bud yesterday & a pleasure to see the flower today.

This brings the season's total, now, to:- 323!!!!

The Brazilian Walking irises keep on surprising me. When you think they have totally finished, they open up a surprise. Today there was another lone flower.

This brings the latest total to:- 322!!

Just one lonely Brazilian Walking iris flower today. Keep thinking they ave finished flowering but they fool me & pop out another one or two or three.......


This brings the total, so far, to:- 321!!

It seems as though the Brazilian Walking irises haven't given up flowering. There were two more flowers this morning. The plantas are starting to look a wee bit untidy as their flowering stems have grown so long & strappy. They are lying, higgledy-piggledy, all over their beautiful leaves. The plantlets are growing quickly, too.

These two bring the total, so far, to:- 320!!!

Just when I think, maybe, the Brazilian Walking irises have finished flowering for this season, they produce some more. Today, there were four of them.

So, now the total stands at:- 318!!!

Missed a lone Brazilian Walking iris flower yesterday. Thought there were none but eagle-eyed Bruiser found it yesterday afternoon when it was starting to curl up & wilt. It was hidden away under some leaves & stems in an, almost, impenetrable jungle.

This lone flower brings the total to:- 314!!!

Ten Brazilian Walking iris flowers today, along with two echinopsis seminudus flowers, as well. The fragrance was wonderful.

The total now stands at:- 313!!!!

There were just two Brazilian Walking iris flowers today. They were still just as pretty, though.

This brings the total to:- 303!!!

There were ten more Brazilian Walking iris flowers today!!! Thought there were only 8 but another count this afternoon revealed there were 10!!

Another 30 Brazilian Walking iris flowers today. It almost looked as though they had finished their flowering for this year as there are quite a few plantlets laready sprouting on the flowering stems. So, it was a surprise to see so many flowers. Many of them were hiding down under the leaves & stems. Some buds for tomorrow, too.

The total now...

Today there were 13 Brazilian Walking iris flowers after a day's rest. Could not see any buds for tomorrow but that doesn't mean anything as they may appear in the morning. These plants are doing great.

The total now stands at:- 261!!!!

There were only two Brazilian Walking iris flowers today. Cannot see any sign of more buds to open tomorrow but that is no certainty until then.

2 + 246 = 248!!!

Today there were just five of our beautiful Brazilian Walking iris flowers. There does not appear to be any buds to open tomorrow. Guess the plants & my camera need a bit of a rest.

With today's five the overall total now comes to:- 246!!

After a hiatus of four days our gorgeous Brazilian Walking irises flowered again today. There were 17 wonderful flowers. Tomorrow there will be even more.

The overall total now stands at:-

There was another mass blooming of Brazilian Walking iris -neomarica bicolour gracilis - flowers!!!! There were 38 of these gorgeous flowers & the soft fragrance was beautiful.

We arrived home, safely, from Brisbane, today, thanks to Bruiser's excellent driving skills. We were greetsd with a lovely display of Brazilian Walking iris flowers. Today, there are 18 flowers & there were signs of there having been many flowers yesterday. Way more than my guesstimate of 25.

So, the overall total now stands at:- 158!!!

While we are away, up here in Brisbane, Queensland, the Brazilian Walking irises will be having a mass flowering of, probably, about 30 flowers & we won't see them or be able to take any pics of this beautiful display.

Was able to count around 20 buds early yesterday morning before we left, which, I knew, would open today. This means there would most likely be close to 30 flowers as more buds seem to appear during the night. There were plenty of double headers too. Oh dear.

Today there were another 11 Brazilian Walking iris flowers. This is great. As there are no apparent buds developing, it does appear as though there may just be a flowering hiatus while we are away, up in Brisbane, for two days & nights. Certainly hope so.

Today's flowering brings the running total to:- 115!!!!

Not only did our wonderful Brazilian Walking irises have a mass flowering of 36 blooms but our cherished adenium obesum & one of our resilient hibiscus shizopetalus plants flowered today.

Today we had seven of the lovely Brazilian Walking iris flowers open. The fragrance was beautiful.

S-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o. the total, of flower openings, now stands at:- 68!!

This will give us a lovely round number total of:-

60!!!

The Brazilian Walking irises had a big snooze for 6 days, with no flowers at all. Finally, today, they delighted us by opening 17 flowers. There are still quite a few flower stems which haven't grown, nor matured, enough,to flower. So there are heaps more to yet start flowering.

Today's flowering brings the total, so far, of Brazilian Walking iris flowers this spring to:- 59!!!

Today there was a mass flowering by the Brazilian Walking iris - neomarica bicolour gracilis - plants. There was the wonderful display & fragrance of 29 flowers.

There were three Brazilian Walking irs flowers today. None yesterday BUT tomorrow there will be the first of the seasons mass blooming. I managed to count 24 buds this morning. There will probably be more.

There was just the one today. Keep saying there will be an explosion of blooms soon, but it hasn't happened as yet.

There was another flower yesterday. None today. Don't think the Brazilian Walking irises are into their full flowering mode, as yet.

Also, found yet another new plantlet from last year's flowering season. This is unbelievable. Wonder how many others are hiding in amongst the plants???

Think it is time to restart the Brazilian Walking iris flower count. Do not know whether I shall be able to keep a proper score of the number as I do think there will be many more this year BUT I shall give it a go.

The first flower was on the 10th September, my mother's 97 birthday. There was a gap of a week until my birthday on the 17th Sept & there was another one. The following day, the 18th, there were four. On the 19th there were two flowers. Today there was none.

The week that Nelbel, her DH (my great SIL ), her DD (my beautiful GD) & DD's VBGFF, have spent here has just flown by. They left this morning to return home, about a 560km drive. Do hope they will arrive home safely.

It has been a wonderful week & everyone enjoyed themselves. Poor Bruiser gained a few kilos, unfortunately. Think I most likely did so,...

Cannot believe it is two &1/2 months since I wrote anything in my blog!! Maybe that is either because nothing much has happened OR (much more likely) I have been very, very, VERY slack.

Nelbel, DH, DD & DD's VBGFF arrived yesterday & it is fantastic to see them.
