Gosh, your weeping willows are stunning, Justy. Didn't you lose one?? If so, it is hard to see where it disappeared from. :good: I absolutely love them & the creek area is looking great.

Love your bird feeding station. It looks like a top class bird dining establishment. :lol3: Your backyard certainly is showing the benefits of your (& DH's) hard work. Everything is looking so terrific. It is wonderful to see it. Thank you. :bravo:

Thank you Joy...And yes we did loose one of our Willows, we had a tree guy come out and cut it down because it was falling over and in danger of taking out my 'Vine Tree' that holds my English Ivy. I will post a picture of it. We never removed the actual Willow stump, we left it in hopes that it would start growing again, because there was nothing at all wrong with the roots. Lo and behold it IS growing again, only now it looks like a Willow Bush.
I have some picture of it also, just need to find them.

Don't think it won't be a Willow bush for long, Justy. This spring it will probably have a growth spurt & become more like a tree. :lol3: It would be great to see those pics. No pressure, though. :lol3:

As you can see removing the tree left a big hole...the land behind and across the creek is not ours.

:thankyou: Justy for posting these :photos: . The weeping willow looked to be growing without any respect for gravity, didn't it??? :lol!: The tree guy would certainly have had to be really careful when cutting each of the trunks. :O That removal sure did leave a big hole. Thankfully, the stumps do look healthy.

It is good you have pics with Ebony in them. They will be a sweet reminder of how happy & contented she was at your lovely home. :D

My word, we shall have to name the last pic, Justy's bayou. :giggle: One good thing, everything looks lovely & green in that pic.

 I'll have to start a thread called Justy's Bayou  Thank goodness it can't make it up to the house, as it is we have a sump pump..and that thing has been running like crazy :grr:

There was one more branch that we should have taken off back then, and it was in danger of falling down on top of our little bridge....but last years strange weather has tore up the bridge (without the help of the Willow) and broke off the pole below the water line. Now this years weather is stranger yet!

That is a real shame, Justy. The maintenance of your lovely home is nonstop, isn't it?? Has the weeping willow. on the left of the pic, filled out on the side where the other willow was cut down?? It looks as though it was being overpowered by it. :O

Hmmmmmm, yes, I can see a thread for Justy's Bayou working very well. Looking forward to the pics of 'gators & snakes. :giggle: Is the sump pump in your basement??? We don't have basements here.

Maintence galore Joy...plus working 40 hours a week too...and then there is Alix every other weekend and every Wednesday night..then GARDENING!!!! Geezz gardening should have been in the front of the list :lol3:

The other Willow to the left is the one that is leaning over the pond, but I think it looks cool when its all leafed out and hanging down. Only one branch is over the pond and the rest seems to be standing straight.

:donald: Gators and Snakes :donald: Lucky I'm not afraid of snakes

Yes, the sump pump is in the basement, its a big cement hole that goes clear thru to the ground. There is a pump in there, actually two pumps, one is on a battery backup in case we loose power during a storm. The sump pump pumps the water out into our drain field, which is out in the middle of our yard and usually the greenest part of our lawn. The grey water, from showers and the washing machine go out there too.

We have city water thank goodness, I don't like the taste of well water, but still have a septic tank for our waste and have to have a service come in and drain the tank. We have done that only once in 12 years, so its due be be drained out soon., and is also not cheap I think it cost $250.00 last time :grr:

Not everyone has one only when you have a high water table. I will go down there and try and take a picture of it for you.

You have a beautiful back yard Justme.

Did you get a lot of snow this year. Bet the snow looked awesome in the yard if you did.

Well, I am afraid of snakes, Justy & the Aussie ones are definitely to be feared. :omg:  The willow does sound cool too & will probably fill out more this coming summer. Hope so. :cool3:

You do have a lot on your plate but it is terrific you are seeing so much of Alix. This will be wonderful for him, too & he will be getting old enough, now, to be a great help with your gardening, I'd imagine. :good:

Apart from the basement, Justy, your setup sounds similar to that of Nelbel's home. I know they have an inground tank for their grey water which filters it well enough for it to be used in the garden. Think they may have town water as well as sewerage & not a septic tank though. May have to get down there to visit & check it out.

Gosh, your septic tank holds a great deal. Not having to cope with taking the grey water would make a big difference, though as that would normally be a large part of the usual septic tank contents.

Our water table is so high that if we had a basement it would end up being an indoor swimming pool. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] alt="" /> :lol2:
