The cycle is recommencing. I have planted three cuttings from the fuchsia cuttings on the 6th May 2012 in the one pot. Dipped the stems into root hormone powder. Fertilised them with Aquasol fertiliser when watering the potting mix, as well. Fingers crossed. :luck:

The fuchsia cuttings are still flowering even though their branches are very spindly. Shall take some more cuttings later this week as I shall be a bit busy for the next few days.

Four days later & these three fuchsia cuttings are still doing ok. While they have not started growing they haven't wilted either.

The three fuchsia cuttings in the one pot are still alive & seem to be doing quite well.

Four more fuchsia cuttings newly planted today. :luck:

Day three for the four fuchsia cuttings in the single pots & day ten for the three cuttings potted together. They all look ok with, as yet, no signs of wilting. This is a great sign as fuchsia cuttings do wilt quite quickly after being cut from the parent plant.

The fuchsia cuttings continue to look healthy. It does seem as though they grow more slowly in the cooler months. Maybe this will help them become better established although the other ones, planted in the hotter months, did not do too badly apart from becoming spindly.

The new fuchsia cuttings have really started to take off now despite it being winter here. They have grown quite significantly & are about double their original size. :goodone:

The first flower on one of the new cuttings from the fuchsia cuttings. Like the original cuttings the first flower is paler than the parent plant but the ones on the other cuttings became brighter in colour as the cuttings grew.

The fuchsia cuttings, in the small pots, will need repotting very soon.

The fuchsia cuttings from the earlier cuttings are looking very pretty. They are starting to flower & have plenty of buds to open.

Using the diffused light from the solar eclipse to get an early morning pic of the fuchsia cuttings without the usual strong sun & shadows.
