Hi Joy ! What a good idea, he will not miss either that way, go for it Bruiser . DH has done nothing but watch the Olympics, and the commentators voice nearly drove me cuckoo :) I got that tired of hearing the same tone for two days solid. I did watch last night and saw the SA. Cameron van der Burgh win the gold last night in the swimming for breaststroke. I think I would have looked as smug as he did if it was me :) . (It was a bitter sweet thought that passed through my mind, though. I used to be a very good swimmer and diver when I was younger, I used to ace every one at school in all the events even in athletics. I am too scared to even jump in the water now :) let alone do a swallowtail into the pool, and yes I have the certificates to prove what I am saying.) One should not look back it is not good for the soul sometimes :lol2: not so? I better change the subject back to the Olympics, where it should be.
DH and I 'should' have separate TV's as he watches different sport to myself. I like Swimming etc. He watches Weightlifting, Cycling etc although he would watch them all given half the opportunity.
The opening ceremony was very good I thought. Rowan Atkinson who can irritate me a little sometimes was excellent in his spoof of Chariots of Fire. I believe the Queen was fantastic when she played her part as Daniel Craig as "James Bond" picked her up at Buckingham Palace. I saw a few shots of London town when they do the fillers in between, London is so full of people it was mind boggling it usually is, but it was *so,full*. I feel for the locals who have to brave out the the busy Olympic time. I expect some are staying home until it is all over, but some will be enjoying the festive atmosphere? There was a spot last night when the camera was doing aerial views of the Thames and London and they passed over Hampton Court Palace. Anyone seeing that shot would want a visit to London it was spectacular. I think it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and I love its vibe. We taped the opening ceremony, and I have only watched some pieces to date.We will watch it piece by piece some time. The sun is shining here  today. Hope you have a nice day everyone :bye:

Thanks Dawn. :wave2: Bruiser records most of the games as much of it happens during our night. He & your DH would have much in common with these games. Bruiser watches everything. :D Right now it is Aus v SA, in the men's hockey. :apgw:

Did see that helicopter view of Hampton Court. It was magnificent. Haven't really seen much of the opening ceremony, I'm afraid, although Bruiser did watch some of it. Did see the torch bit & the Queen doing her spot of acting with "James Bond". She said she hoped it made people laugh.

While I never tried diving (afraid of falling off heights :lol3: ), Dawn, I, too, was a swimmer at school & loved being in the water. Now, we live right by the ocean & never go into it!! Aaaaah well........ Of course, we also played hockey, netball, cricket, etc, etc.

Do hope you enjoy your lovely sunny day. :sun: :good:

I am ashamed to admit I have not watched the Olympics. Not enough time. From news reports it seems they are doing quite well no matter what country wins. Nice to be athletic.

I get my exercise tending garden as you know. My daughter loves to walk. Grandson loves wrestling and baseball. The grand daughters love soccer and softball. One son loves yard work such as tilling and mowing. The other son is a yard designer which is hard work too. Guess my family are all active people.

How many more days of the Olympics? Thought they would wind down by now.

You certainly do have a very active family, Glad. That is excellent to hear. :D

There is another three days of the Olympics to go & the competition ends with the marathon, if I remember correctly, followed by the closing ceremony. There is still plenty of competition to go with many more medals to be won. So Bruiser will still have much to entertain him. :lol3:

Sounds like a great game, Granny. Bruiser is yet to watch this match, so he'll be hanging out to see who won. He still has his eyes glued to his computer monitor watching the games.

Do not know what he will do when the Games are over. Maybe he will even post here.

New Zealand did well, too, for such a small country, didn't it?!?!?! :bravo:

Glad to see that sailing did so well for Australia. :good: Maybe our state govt will change their mind about cutting funding to the sailing programme. Doubt it though. :grr:
