I was given a small slip of a trailing strawberry. I planted it in an ornamental cement planter near my front gate. Whilst I don't get an enormous amount of strawberries, I get an enormous amount of pleasure from it as a flowering plant. I think the flowers have a little charm of their own and the leaf and trailing habit is attractive, the fruit is just an ornamental bonus, they also add a spash of colour... until DH finds them . This time I managed to get a photo before they were picked.

All I have ever done is water and feed this little plant regularly, trim off the dead leaves and it has seemed to be hassle free. It never cost one cent to buy, being a slip from a friend . I have some photos of it from last season with the attractive tendrils hanging over the pot. When I find them will post them.

What a fabulous plant, Dawn. It, most certainly, ticks all the boxes.

    1. A lovely foliage plant when without flowers.

    2. Attractive flowers.

    3. Useful. Especially if there is cream, or ice cream, available.

    4. Easy to take care of. Now that IS a major plus!! :D

Also, it is a plant that you wouldn't deadhead, either.

Thanks for showing us your plant. This is another good idea for a decorative plant.
