Town. 16 hectares of nature area created from natural wetlands, has
become a haven for Flora and birdlife. We saw Weavers, Herons, Darters,
Moorhens, and loads of Sacred Ibis's on their breeding nests areas made
of dead wood sticks located in the middle of the water and many ducks.
It is an ideal environment for wading birds. A man made canal circles the
entire island becoming a natural buffer from the development taking
place around it. It is a 45 min nature trail with bird hides and benches
along the way to sit and take in the birds and surroundings. There is a 30 min
boat ride that takes one around the island and on to the Canal Walk
food court, where one can get off and have lunch or tea and then
reconnect with the next ride back to the island and your car. I so
enjoyed the whole experience.
This is a view from the air of the whole place. I photgraphed this from their Brochure
