We have had several days of absolutely wonderful winter weather these past few days. These images were taken from Razorback Lookout which is the place to go for great scenic shots of the Pacific Ocean & our area. Humpback whales were breaching & spouting out to sea, on their annual northerly migration to the tropics & the Great Barrier Reef for calving, but, unfortunately, were not caught by my camera.

A small boat returning to port after a morning's fishing.

Main Beach & the Evans River entrance. Broadwater National Park is to the north of the town runs along the beach, as well as inland.

Entering the bar across the entrance to the vans River. This bar is, normally, extremely dangerous to cross & careless boat skippers have come to grief here on more than one occasion. THe crossing is much easier during such calm conditions as these are.

Safely across. There are many hopeful surfers waiting for a decent wave. Good conditions for surfers mean bad conditions for boaties. This time the weather was in the boaties' favour.

Heading up the Evans River to the boat ramp. There are two of them further up the river, which is a tidal estuary.

A glimpse of part of the town. Our village is surrounded by two national parks & the Pacific Ocean. It cannot spread any further.

Do not know what these small trees are called but they do look a bit like datura but they do not have the trumpet flower. Their flowers are small, rather insignificant, blue/purple. They are very common around our region.

Goanna Headland. Humpback whales could be seen, out to sea, just above this headland.
