This morning I found this honey bee busily investigating the graptoveria flowers. Bees have shown quite a great deal of interest in the flowers of our succulents. The sedum clavatum has had many flowers which grow in small clumps. The bee was buzzing around them but many of the flowers have faded. The graptoveria still has blooms so it switched its attentions to its pretty little flowers.

Yesterday a busy honey bee was having a great time with our French marigolds. It wasn't at all disturbed by my taking photos. I am fgascinated, though, by the orangy/brown shadow it casts.

This image clearly shows how far a bee can separate its thorax from its abdomen.

Another flower enjoyed by honey bees are the heads of tiny sedum clavatum "Giant Stone Crop" flowers. This bee flew on to this flowerhead, from feasting on the clover flowers, just as I was taking pics of the pretty little flowers.
