Bruiser has discovered some wonderful online jigsaw puzzles. They are from Jigsaw Planet. You make your own jigsaw puzzles, either from one of their pics or one of your own pictures. It is very easy to do & is a lot of fun. The instructions on the site are, also, very easy to follow. You do not have to be a member of the site to make your jigsaws.

To create your own jigsaw click onto Create & follow the insts. Click Play after you have finished creating your jigsaw & copy the URL which appears at the top of your screen.

Start a New Topic for your jigsaw puzzle so we know where it is & can easily access it. Paste the URL into the Link tool, which is in the row of tools at the top of the message (post) body. It is the one next to the Image tool & looks like this:- Paste the URL in the the top half of the window & type in the title, you want to give your link, in the bottom half, then click OK.

Think they will be a great deal of fun. :lol2:

Here is the link to Jigsaw Planet. It is also in Bruiser's first post, as is his first jigsaw for you to solve. Jigsaw Planet

Have discovered that, if you do not have time to finish the jigsaw puzzle you are working on, it will halt the timer & leave the puzzle, as you left it, until you return to it.

This is what happened for me when we had to shut my computer down for another reason. At that time I was also trying to solve one of the more difficult ones & was fully prepared to have to start from the beginning again but when I clicked on to that particular puzzle it was as I had left it previously, time & all. This was even after we had had to restart the computer after the shutdown.

This is good to know, I think. :good:

Thought it might be handy to know if anyone would like to start a jigsaw, Dawn, but may run out of time to finish it. :D

Pixie when you come to the page the Jigsaw is on, at the bottom on the left hand side of the page are a few icons if you press the icon with the square.. I think it is the one on the extreme left hand side... one can view the picture of the puzzle at will!. The other icons have other functions too. Just press on another and it will scatter the pieces too, after it has been done, that is if you wish to redo it. I can't remember the function of the others, experiment with them all, it is fun!. Yes this Jigsaw thread is great isn't it! I look forward to seeing your photos on there :bye:

I have joined the jigsaw puzzle site but I have been so busy working all the puzzles here that I have made any of my own.

Currently I am under 5 (unless ya'll put a bunch more in).

One of these days you will see one from me.

Oh, by the way, there is no need to join Jigsaw Puzzles to make them. In fact I have found out it is easier to make them if you aren't actually signed in. I don't bother to name them or put tags on them, either. Have noticed some puzzles are the same ones over & over with just different numbers of pieces. :lol!:

Good for you that your jigsaw was published, Pixie. :bravo: Can you post it here so we can solve it, too, without having to go through the Jigsaw Puzzles pages??

Ok I am ready to create a puzzle.

Have the picture all ready to go on my computer.

I cannot transfer to the site for some reason.

    I followed the instructions too.

Is the problem with Jigsaw Planet not being able to see your pic when you click Choose File, or is it that you cannot transfer the finished puzzle to APG, Glad??

Where it says to browse to upload a picture from you computer to Jigsaw Planet is where I am having problems. It won't transfer.

After you have made your puzzle you go to share over on the right hand side and click embed and it will display the URL ontop of your puzzle, you just copy and paste it in to the chain symbol(link) on your APG reply and don't forget to name it in that window

Thanks Bruiser. There are further instructions on how to post these Jigsaws here, in the first post of this topic. Here is the link.
    The Jigsaw How-To

While Bruiser & I have different ways of getting the URL of the puzzle (& they both work equally well) we use the same method of posting them. The Link button is the 17th square icon from the left & looks like this .

    Happy posting.

I did that Bruiser but when I previewed before I posted it showed the worked puzzle.

Should I try again without working first?

That sounds like a good idea, Glad. Have never worked out a puzzle first before posting it. Don't think Bruiser has either.

That is ok, Pixie, do hope it will work for you. I do dislike it when things don't work as they should. These are usually quite easy to post, I have found I can do them in a few minutes which pleases me, no end, as I am, often, in a rush to work on the puzzles. :lol2:

    That might be the problem!

Will find another picture on the net or figure out the puter problem.

    Finally accomplished posting one.

I think I made it too difficult. What is the average number of pieces for a good puzzle? The one I made had 150. Would 130 be average?

I will try again sometime to post one from a picture on my computer.
